Sitter service is provided by registered care providers for up to 4 hours per week for 12 weeks. Outreach Sitter Service Inverclyde Carers Centre can now provide respite to Carers to allow them to engage within their community. This service has enabled Carers to access activities in their community. These activities have varied from attending social groups to going along to country dancing classes. The Carers receiving this service have benefitted from getting time to socialise with others and participate in an activity they enjoy. In many cases the cared for has also benefitted from interacting with others. Taking a break can not only provide support to you as a Carer but can also offer the person you are looking after the chance to enjoy new experiences, have a change of routine and mix with other people.
