The Centre offers a range of interventions to help Carers get a break from their caring role. These include Overnight Breaks & Time to Live.

Overnight Breaks

Carers may feel they need a longer break away from there caring role. Application so far have included weekend caravan breaks, Tribute night breaks and much more.

Who can access Overnight Breaks?

  • Carers who are registered with Inverclyde Carers Centre.
  • Carers who have not had a break away from their caring role in the last 12 months.

What costs can be met?

Accommodation and travel costs can be met. A maximum of £150 per Carer per break. Carers cannot contribute towards the cost of break if it exceeds £150 per Carers per break.

How to apply?

Carers must identify the break they would like to go on and obtain quotes. Once you have this information contact us on 01475 735180 or [email protected] to find out how to apply.

Can I take my friend/relative with me? This break is for registered Carers only. Anyone going on the break must be a Carer registered with Inverclyde Carers Centre.

Can I take the person I care for with me? Unfortunately no, unless the person you care for is also a Carer. This break is for registered Carers only and aims to give Carers a break away from their caring role/routine.

Can I pay the extra towards my break? No, breaks cannot exceed the £150 per Carer per break budget.

When will I hear if I have been approved for a break? Breaks are considered at on the last working day of each month. We aim to notify Carers as soon as possible. Typically you should hear from us within one week of your break being considered.
