Register as a Carer

Why Register as a Carer?

Inverclyde Carers Centre is a voluntary organisation which is based in Inverclyde. The centre is managed by local people who are, or have been, Carers themselves.

The main focus is to support Carers through the services we provide. These are free and are specifically designed for those who reside within the Inverclyde area.

It can enable you to keep up to date with key information on what's going on within the centre or through our partnership working approach. We have a website, Twitter and Facebook pages for Carers and Young Adult Carers who want to keep up to date through electronic methods.

Carers don't always recognise themselves as providers of support to loved ones or realise that they require support themselves - whether it's a listening ear, advice or information - we are here to help.

How to Register?

We ask Carers to complete the Carers Self Assessment - which is your chance to tell us about your caring role and the things that you feel would improve your life as an individual. This can be the first step towards receiving some practical help to make things better.  From this we begin to build a picture of how we, the Carers Centre, might support you further in your caring role.  The amount of information you give us is entirely your choice.

You can click below to download one to complete and return to us either via email or post

Or you can contact us on 01475 735180 to make an appointment to register and have a Carers Self Assessment sent out. We can also provide a home visit to Carers who cannot make it into the centre.

A member of staff will then contact you to arrange a convenient time for you to have a chat with one of our Carer Support Workers.  This could be around providing benefits advice, helping you meet other people, giving you emotional support, helping you get a break from caring or putting you in touch with other services who can help.

If you are living/caring for someone outside the area and would like information on the Carers Centre closest to you, please contact the NHS Carer Information line on 0141 353 6504.
