Our Carer Support Worker, Anne-Marie MacDonald, works alongside Health and Social Care Staff to improve the support available for unpaid Carers.

One aspect of this is focused on helping staff working within Health Centres to recognise Carers and the important role they play in signposting them to us for support and other services and the other is focused on the fundamental part of the post, providing direct support to Carers after referral.

By working together we can ensure more Carers than ever are identified and supported at a time and place they need it and crucially this will help prevent them from reaching crisis point.

'It is everyones role to identify and support unpaid Carers'

There are a range of the people who can support and/or signpost you to support within a Health Centre Setting. These include:

  • Doctors
  • Nurses
  • Receptionists/Admin
  • Janitors/Cleaners
  • Dietician
  • Physiotherapist

You can also self-refer or ask a member of staff in the Health Centre to contact Anne-Marie on your behalf.

You can drop in to any of the Health Centres. Anne-Marie will be available at:
