Support for Carers Short breaks Group short breaks Who can apply for a short break? Groups of two or more Carers, who are registered with Inverclyde Carers Centre and have not had an overnight break away from their caring role in the last 12 months. Short breaks are available to Carers of all ages, gender, ethnicity, religion, race, sexual orientation, disability, caring responsibilities, economic and political affiliation. What costs can be met? Accommodation costs which can be on any board basis and may include entertainment where provided. Travel costs which may involve public transport or use of private vehicle. A maximum of £150 per Carer per break will apply. How do Carers access breaks? Having identified a short break and obtained quotations for accommodation and transport, the group should contact a member of staff to complete a “Short Breaks for Groups” application form. This will then be passed to the Manager for consideration. All applications will be considered individually and priority will go to those Carers who have not accessed breaks before. CARERS MUST NOT BOOK BREAK PRIOR TO APPROVAL. What difference do we hope short breaks will make? To give Carers a break from their caring routine. To relieve stress from caring. To give Carers the chance to recharge their energy to enable them to continue with their caring role. To enable Carers to have leisure time for themselves. To assist Carers to develop friendships with other Carers. To reduce social isolation If you would like further information please contact us on 01475 735180 or by clicking here.
