As an unpaid Carer, you may take little opportunity to look after your own health.

Carers tend to forget about their own health needs, often feeling like they do not have time to take care of their own health. It is important that Carers look after themselves to continue in their caring role.

If you are an unpaid Carer and finding it difficult to access GP appointments. You can request to be added to the GP Carers Register. If you register as a Carer with your GP surgery, they may be able to offer your more flexible appointments to fit around your caring role. You could also have access to:

  • Annual Health Checks
  • Annual Flu Jags
  • Information and support
  • Advice /signpost to other available support services.

Inverclyde Carers Centre have a referral system in place to support Carers to access this service.
