The Scotland Act 2016 will devolve a number of social security powers to the Scottish Parliament. The Scottish Government is consulting on how best to use these new social security powers and believes that there should be opportunity for everyone to participate in the debates and decisions that matter to them, regardless of their circumstances or backgrounds.

The National Carers Organisations are gathering Carer’s views directly and have produced several briefings to help inform people and to assist their involvement. In support of this Inverclyde Carers Centre, in conjunction with Financial Fitness, held a consultation event on 30th September 2016 in Greenock Town Hall to hear Carer’s views and opinions. Thirty Carers attended the event.
